These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Ahmed Ahmed, an individual operating as Akhirah ("Akhirah", "we", "us", "our"), based in the State of Ohio, United States.
By downloading, installing, or using the Akhirah mobile app or website (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy and our Disclaimer, both of which are part of this agreement.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Akhirah only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Akhirah on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules. This licence is for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may not:
Akhirah, its name, logo, design, and original written content are our property or used under licence. Quranic text, translations, hadith collections, recitation audio, and similar source material belong to their respective rights holders and are provided through third-party sources.
An account is optional — Akhirah works fully without one. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, you are responsible for keeping access to that account secure, and for activity that happens under it. You may disconnect your account at any time from your Profile. Your use of Apple or Google sign-in is also governed by their own terms.
Ask Akhirah is an AI-assisted study tool. It is not a mufti, imam, or scholar, and its answers are not fatwa.
AI systems can be confidently wrong. They can misquote, misattribute, misdate, or omit important context — including in matters of religion. Akhirah is designed to explain and to cite its sources so that you can check them, and to point you toward a qualified scholar when a question calls for one.
You agree that:
Because AI answers are generated, the same question may produce different answers at different times, and we cannot guarantee any answer is complete, current, or free from error.
Prayer times and Qibla direction are calculated estimates, derived from your device's location, its sensors, and an established calculation method. They can be affected by your location accuracy, your chosen calculation method, magnetic interference with the compass, and local conventions that differ from any calculation.
Prayer reminders are scheduled by your device and may be delayed or suppressed by your device's own settings — including Do Not Disturb, Focus modes, Low Power Mode, and notification permissions. Do not rely on Akhirah as your only means of knowing prayer times. Where accuracy matters, confirm with your local mosque or a trusted local timetable.
Please use Akhirah in the spirit it was built. You agree not to:
We may limit, suspend, or end your access to the Service if you do any of the above.
Your reflections, notes, saved ayahs, and questions are yours. We claim no ownership of them.
As explained in our Privacy Policy, your reflections and Ask history are stored on your device, not on our servers. If you choose an account, we store only the limited account and sync data described there, such as bookmarks and reading progress. You grant us only the narrow permission needed to actually operate the features you use — for example, transmitting your question to our AI provider so that an answer can be generated and returned to you. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it.
Akhirah relies on outside services — including Apple, Google, Quran.Foundation, Convex, Vercel, Aladhan, EveryAyah, and our AI provider — and displays content sourced from third parties. We do not control these services and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or their own terms. Their content is provided to you as-is.
Akhirah is built and maintained by one person. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service — including features you rely on — at any time, and we may not be able to give you advance notice. We do not promise any level of uptime.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free; that prayer times, Qibla bearings, translations, or AI-generated answers will be accurate or complete; or that defects will be corrected. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE — INCLUDING ANY RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED ANSWERS, PRAYER TIMES, OR QIBLA DIRECTION.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) TWENTY-FIVE US DOLLARS ($25).
Some jurisdictions do not allow limits on liability for certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where the law does not permit that limit.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
You may stop using Akhirah at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including sections 8, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 17 — will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Talk to us first. If you have a problem, email ahmedbizsolutions@gmail.com and give us 30 days to resolve it. Most things can be sorted out this way.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you and we agree that it will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. If you are a consumer resident in a jurisdiction whose law grants you the right to bring proceedings locally, nothing here removes that right.
These Terms are between you and Akhirah only — not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. The following apply to your use of the iOS app:
We may update these Terms as Akhirah changes. If a change materially affects you, we will say so plainly in the app and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service.
